2025 International Women's Day event

International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated every year on March 8, honoring women’s achievements and supporting the movement for gender equality.

Popular around the world, the day is now dedicated to recognizing women’s leadership at all levels and advancing gender equality as a civil rights and socioeconomic imperative.

International Women’s Day also continues to advocate for gender equality in business, cultivating discussions on its importance in thriving economies and communities.

In recognition of Women’s History Month, the Detroit Regional Chamber hosted its annual International Women’s Day celebration in alignment with the 2025 theme of on March 4, 2025.

During the event, business professionals and leaders spent an afternoon of empowerment connecting with fellow leaders. They will gained insight into strategies, resources, and activities that positively impact women’s advancement, to support and elevate their implementation while helping women and girls make informed decisions about their health.

As in years past, the lunch event featured a moderated discussion with a panel of women leaders. The panelists shared personal perspectives on their professional journeys, including how they balance their health and wellness. Attendees will also have access to experiential wellness hubs, exploring various facets of women’s health and wellness.

This year’s unique wellness experiences included:

  • Community Financial Credit Union will host a ‘Safe Space and Belonging’ activation to foster open dialogue and empathy among attendees to build stronger, meaningful relationships.
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM)
  • Corewell Health will have a hands-on demonstration of CPR.
  • Sponsored by Enbridge, attendees can participate in a “make-and-take” flower bouquet station with Mia’s Flower Truck.
  • Troop members from the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan will be selling cookies to support the future of accessible scouting and experiences.
  • Experience the healing power through an art therapy activation withHenry Ford Health
  • Sponsored by KeyBank, Michigan Humane will have adoptable cats and dogs for attendees to play with and spotlight how pets can improve personal well-being.
  • Attendees will hear from business leaders in a moderated discussion with Christy McDonald.
  • Guided meditation will be facilitated by The W Buchanan Group.
